House of Turkey, hosted an informational luncheon on Tuesday, April 29th, 2008 at Spago Restaurant, which is the first restaurant that was opened by world famous executive chef Wolfgang Puck before he started the well known restaurant chain in the U.S. The luncheon was sponsored by Merrill Lynch and was well attended by leaders of Turkish American community in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Also present was Hon. Hakan Tekin, Los Angeles Consul General of Republic of Turkey, and Dr. Mike Mustafoglu, honorary consul general of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Food permit training
HPR will be giving free food handling trainings and one-time permits at Hall of Nations. Those who will be volunteering us during our December Nights Events are highly encouraged to attend this event and obtrain this permit.

Rumi, the thirteenth-century Sufi mystic, ended one of his fervent poems with a prophetic line: “Dazed by the marvels of love, our whirling endures.” The Mevlevi Order, founded in his name, has kept the tradition of whirling alive for 800 years.
